Brenda Beddome

Hi, I’m Brenda. I am a designer, a wife and a mom. Born and raised in a family business in the countryside of Saskatchewan, small Canadian businesses have always been of great importance to me. At the age of 12, I discovered my knack for making clothing, and nine years later, I graduated from Ryerson University with a degree in Fashion Design. A few years after that, in 1983, I launched my first fashion line, and haven’t looked back since.

I am proud to be Canadian, and be designing and manufacturing 100% in Canada. Over the years, fewer and fewer textile and apparel manufacturers remain in Canada, as brands have been turning to cheaper overseas labour. But to us, the benefits to keeping our manufacturing close to home far outweigh the obstacles! It allows me to give to people what I love to create, all the while creating jobs for Canadians. We get to develop great relationships with our contractors, can feel confident knowing that human rights and the environment are being respected, and leave a smaller carbon footprint on the world.
