For this necklace there is a fat little song sparrow sitting on a olive branch.
I carved the song sparrow and cast it into silver and the branch is from a pruning of an olive tree that I collected when I was staying on a little farm in Italy, once I got back to my studio I cast it into bronze.
The round linked bronze chain connects onto the branch and can be clipped shorter, in the photo the model is wearing it full length of 22″ and because the pendant is attached in the center the clasp end doesn’t slip around to the front. For the option of sometimes wearing it longer I include a 6″ extender in the same chain.
The pendant part measures 1 1/4 “across.
